Birth of a Therapist

She came to us complaining of a pain. So we laid her back against the grass and spread her legs. When we looked inside her, deep deep down, we saw the flame burning. We cowered like Moses and searched for water. But she screamed WAIT! LIFE. AND THE FIRST TIME I’VE FELT A REASON TO BREATHE.

You said you were meant to illuminate. Me, I stick to the dark corners and I pushed you away forgetting the monsters these shadowed places hold. That I might need someone to scare them away someday. I can’t see them. But while blindfolded, you drew white chalk circles around every one. It wasn’t until then that I realized I might need help.
