Ghosts in the synapses

This old head rush is familiar like hospital beds.
I welcome you like loneliness.
When you take me by the skin
and drag me into faceless crowds.
No one has eyes yet I fear
their gaze
and my body tries to hide and my voice
holds no weight.
My mind sounds like a jailbreak,
and all I can hear is ‘run’.
