In Need of Land to Toss Their Trash, They Drained the Lake

You’ve been in the same place for over ten years.

Sperm donor,

in debt,

living in Mom’s basement;

stagnant.

There’s no motion

in a calm pond.

Except the fish.

-

You are not a fish.

-

So rent a single-seat

survivor’s raft

and a life jacket.

Paddle rapid

from 19 to 20.

Your only job

is to ....... stay afloat.

And sometimes that means

cutting

the dead weight,

dead leg;

sometimes that means pain.

We’ve made it on less.
